Itinerary

We embark early, ensuring a leisurely breakfast before descending the winding roads of the Kathmandu Valley. The journey features a scenic drive alongside the Trushuli River, where you might glimpse rafters navigating the rapids, offering a hint of potential future adventures. As we move toward flatter terrains, a stop for lunch is scheduled before we continue to Pokhara. Upon arrival, after checking into the hotel, you'll have the opportunity to explore the local area, including the serene lake walkway, diverse shops, and restaurants, all under the shadow of the mesmerizing Fishtail Mountain.

After breakfast in Pokhara, we take a short drive to Naya Pool, the starting point of our trek. Options for this leg include bus, local jeep, or private vehicle. From Naya Pool, our trek begins, initially passing through the checkpoint at Birethanti. The trail then ascends gently to Tikhedhunga, taking around 4 to 5 hours of hiking to reach our lodge for the night. Today's trek is designed to acclimatize your legs to the upcoming days of hiking.

Today starts with crossing a suspension bridge near Tikhedhunga, followed by a challenging ascent. We face over 3,000 steps on a steep stone staircase leading up to Ulleri village. This segment is more of a climb than a hike and getting some stair-climbing practice beforehand can be beneficial. Once past Ulleri, the trail levels out, meandering through pastures and fields beyond Banthanti village. We continue to Ghorepani, where we will spend the night. The views expand as we ascend, offering glimpses of the high peaks, including Annapurna I and Dhaulagiri.

Rising before dawn, we embark on a one-hour hike to Poon Hill at 3,210m to witness a majestic sunrise over the Himalayas. As we enjoy the early morning chill, hot tea is available to savor while we take in the expansive views of Hiuchuli, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Tukuche, Annapurna South, Annapurna I through IV, Lamjung Himal, and Machhapuchhre, among others. After capturing memories and photographs of the sunrise, we return to our lodge in Ghorepani for a hearty breakfast before we set off for Tadapani. The initial part of today’s trek is quite steep until we cross the Deurali Pass, after which the path becomes gentler. Overnight stay is in Tadapani, where we enjoy continued views of the mountain landscape.

Today's trek is shorter, offering ample time to explore Ghandruk, one of the largest Gurung villages in the region. Visiting the Gurung Culture Museum provides fascinating insights into the lives of the Gurungs, renowned as the brave and loyal Gurkha soldiers in the British and Indian armies. The trek amidst snowy peaks is leisurely today, allowing for rest and relaxation upon arrival in Ghandruk.

Enjoy the final trek breakfast before we hike through quaint villages to reach Naya Pool. Here, we catch a bus or jeep for the return trip to Pokhara. This evening, revel in the lively atmosphere of Pokhara’s bars and restaurants, and take in the scenic views of the lake and Fishtail Mountain.

Post breakfast, board your tourist bus or a private vehicle arranged for your return to Kathmandu. Reflect on the memories of the trek as you travel back to the capital city, completing your journey through the stunning landscapes and vibrant cultures of the Annapurna region.
