Discover the Unexplored Nar Phu Valley Trek: A Journey to Remote Tibetan Villages
Embark on the Nar Phu Valley Trek, a journey through Nepal's untouched Annapurna region, reaching remote villages near Chame. This trek takes you across high passes like Kang La (5,200m) and Thorong La (5,416m), through picturesque villages, dense forests, ancient monasteries, and narrow canyons, leading to the secluded Nar and Phu villages. Experience the unique lifestyle of the Khampas (Tibetan refugees) and witness snow-capped mountain vistas, yaks grazing, deep gorges, stunning glaciers, and herds of blue sheep.
The trek begins in Jagat, accessible after an 8-9 hour drive from Kathmandu. Follow the Annapurna Circuit trail up to Meta, crossing the Marshyangdi River into the Nar Phu Valley. The landscape transitions from dense forests to expansive views of snowy peaks like Kang Garu and Pisang. Explore ancient villages, monasteries, and encounter wildlife such as yaks and blue sheep.
In the alpine Nar Valley, take a day to immerse in the natural beauty before crossing Kang La Pass to reach Ngwala Village. Rejoin the Annapurna Circuit, continuing to Manang, Yak Kharka, and Thorong Phedi - the ideal stop before the challenging Thorong La Pass, one of the world's highest passes.
After conquering Thorong La Pass, arrive at Muktinath, a revered Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage site known for its 108 holy sprouts and an eternal flame. The journey then leads to Jomsom and Tatopani, where you can relax in natural hot springs. The trek concludes in Pokhara, followed by a return to Kathmandu.
This package includes the cost of the local bus ride from Kathmandu to Jagat (approximately 172.9 km). For added comfort, a private jeep can be arranged at an extra cost, and a 20-minute flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu is available at your own expense. Golden Tibet Travel advises arriving in Kathmandu by 3 pm at least two days before the trek for preparations, including acquiring the special permit required for this adventure.

Best Season for Nar Phu Trek
Nar Phu Valley, situated in the trans-Himalayan region, is an excellent destination for Monsoon Trekking in Nepal. This area is accessible most of the year, except during the winter months (December-February), when temperatures drop below freezing, and heavy snowfall can block high passes.
Spring (March-May): The weather is pleasant, and the flora is in full bloom, offering a mesmerizing trekking experience.
Monsoon (June-August): As a rain-shadow area, the region remains largely unaffected by monsoon rains, though landslides may occasionally impact road accessibility in lower regions. Extra casual days are recommended for travelers.
Autumn (September-November): Post-monsoon in Nepal brings clear skies, mild weather, fall colors, and sublime views, making it an ideal time to visit.
